Inverness kickboxing brothers take major honours at WAKO British Championship





AIDAN Lennan continued his success in kickboxing as he won three gold medals at the WAKO British National Championship.

Competing in his final year as a junior in the under-19’s competition, he won gold medals in the 63kg Points Fighting, Light Contact and Kick Light categories.

In senior competition, he claimed a silver medal in the Kick Light category and two bronze medals in the Light Contact and Points fighting categories.

He has qualified for the Great Britain squad for all three disciplines at the European Championships in Portugal in August.

In December, Lennan was named as Scotland Young Athlete of the Year at the 2024 Scottish Sports Awards.

He also became a double world champion in Hungary in September.

He is now preparing for the WAKO Italian World Cup next month.

His younger brother Ciaran also claimed two bronze medals in the Older Cadets -52kg Light Contact and Kick Light categories.
