Inverness Caley Thistle will look to bring in emergency loan again after goalkeeper Musa Dibaga injured in League One defeat to Kelty Hearts

Scott Kellacher says Inverness Caledonian Thistle will likely look to get in another emergency loan as goalkeeping cover after Musa Dibaga went off injured in their 2-0 defeat to Kelty Hearts on Saturday.

It was only a few weeks ago that Inverness last signed emergency cover, bringing in Celtic youth Aidan Rice when Dibaga was on international duty last month.

However, the Gambian shot-stopper stretched to try and prevent a corner in the closing minutes of the first half at the weekend, and did not re-emerge after the interval.

That meant a senior competitive debut for 17-year-old schoolboy Szymon Rebilas, but with the youngster potentially being left as ICT’s only goalkeeper ahead of this weekend’s trip to Stenhousemuir, Kellacher says he intends to dip back into the loan market.

“We’ll probably look to get in another keeper on an emergency loan, because we can’t just go with one goalkeeper,” Kellacher reasoned.

“We’ll see how Musa is, he’ll get assessed, and then we’ll take it from there. Hopefully he’s alright, but it was a real sore one today.

“I expected better after last week (against Cove) when it was really positive, and we got everything we wanted.

“It’s a massive thing for Szymon to come on for his first real bit of action. Coming on in a big game like that is a tough ask, but he will learn from the experience.

“That’s why he trains with us every day, so I won’t be looking to point the blame on him. We’ll try to protect him as much as possible.”

Adding to the frustration around the Kelty result was the fact that it ended a positive week for Caley Thistle on a down note.

Just 48 hours before Saturday’s match, Alan Savage was announced as the preferred bidder to buy the club and take them out of administration.

That would safeguard ICT’s long-term future, but Kellacher says they did not back up that momentum on the pitch against Kelty.

“That might be the most disappointing part – everything has really gone so well for the club this week, and it looks as if it’s going in the right direction with Alan being the preferred bidder.

“It’s going to be a lot easier. The club is the most important thing, but we need to get it right on the pitch.

“We need to get the fans back, and they came today in their numbers – we just didn’t perform as well as we should do.

“We’re a far better team than we showed today, and that’s the really disappointing thing.

“Everyone wanted to see a big performance on the pitch today, and we have to make sure we do our bit on the park to help. Today we didn’t, which is really frustrating all round.”
