CLACH and Fraserburgh shared the spoils at Grant Street in the Highland League at the weekend with a 1-1 draw.

Scott Graham headed the Lilywhites in front after just nine minutes against in-form Broch.

The visitors drew level on 60 minutes when Scott Barbour scored his 34 goal of the season to ensure they won’t finish lower than sixth this year.

For Clach, their much improved second half of an injury-hit campaign leaves them just below mid-table with three games to go.

Stand-in Fort William boss Calum MacLean saw his side edged out 2-0 at Deveronvale in the Highland League at the weekend.

Stepping in following Danny Conlon quitting the top job, the former Claggan manager may not have relished this trip to Banff.

Ricky Wardrop gave the hosts the lead after just 10 minutes when he fired the ball beyond keeper Robbie Donaldson into the net.

Iain MacLellan then Lewis Morrison each went close for Fort as they pressed for a leveller.

However, Vale doubled their advantage on 33 minutes when Craig Cowie scored from 10 yards.

Fort return to action on Wednesday when they welcome Clach to Claggan in a rearranged fixture.

Nairn County kept alive their chances of finishing as Highland League runners-up thanks to a 1-0 home win against Buckie Thistle on Saturday.

Stuart Leslie netted the only goal on the hour mark to see off the Jags in an encounter not helped by the windy conditions.

In what was Les Fridge’s side’s final Station Park game of the season, it leaves them one point behind second-placed Inverurie Locos, who have two matches in hand.

Champions Brora Rangers underlined their class with a 6-0 Highland League cruise at Huntly on Saturday, with doubles from Steven Mackay and Zander Sutherland and goals from Ross Tokely and Steven Ross.

Inverurie Locos look most likely to finish behind Brora following their 7-0 thrashing of visitors Wick Academy, who had several key players missing through injury.

Keith’s second win within four days came when they scored a 1-0 victory at Strathspey Thistle and Formartine United beat Cove Rangers 2-1, their first-ever league win over the 2013 champions.

Rothes and Lossiemouth shared two goals at Mackessack Park and it finished goalless between Turriff United and Forres Mechanics.
