Loch Ness make history as they are crowned North Caledonian League champions for the first time





Loch Ness have won the North Caledonian League for the first time in their history after a 5–0 win against Fort William.

The Fortrose based club, who joined the NCL in the 2020/21 season, claimed victory with a game to spare.

Invergordon were held to a 1-1 draw against Orkney at the Recreation Ground in the early kick-off, leaving Loch Ness knowing victory would seal the title.

Scott Morrison gave Loch Ness the lead after 16 minutes with Josh Race doubling their advantage on the half hour.

Liam Taylor made it 3-0 with six minutes remaining of the first half.

Fort William were reduced to 10 men when Andrew Martin was sent off before Allan Macphee made it 4-0 four minutes into the second half.

Shane Harkness then made it 5-0 with 15 minutes remaining.

The trophy is expected to be presented to Loch Ness at their final game against Alness United at King George V Park in Fortrose next Saturday at 2pm.
