Lovat looking for revenge in Camanachd Cup final

LOVAT manager Fraser Gallacher is hoping his team can get revenge on Newtonmore and win the Camanachd Cup final in Oban tomorrow.

The top two shinty teams in the country meet in the final for the second year running after the Kiltarlity outfit were edged out in a five goal thriller last year as Newtonmore claimed the trophy for the 32nd time with a 3-2 victory at Bught Park in Inverness.

Lovat will be looking to win the biggest prize in the sport for the third time in their history.

In 2015, they won the trophy beating Kyles Athletic 2-1 in Oban which was their first success in the competition since 1953 when they also beat Kyles.

Despite being underdogs against Newtonmore who are looking to win the cup for the third year in a row, Gallacher is predicting a tight encounter.
