MacDonald aims to boost rugby at schools in Inverness

HIGHLAND Rugby Club’s new assistant development officer Ruaridh MacDonald wants to see a resurrection of rugby in schools.

A big part of MacDonald’s new role is to go around schools in the area helping to deliver School of Rugby sessions.

Having been involved in the coaching side of the club on and off since 2009, he has been thrown straight into action this week at Culloden High School and Charleston Academy.

And he says he wants to get as many children playing rugby in the area as is possible, leading to organised competition.
