MacDonald only wanted to return to Clachnacuddin after Rothes exit

Martin MacDonald says he only wanted to return to Clachnacuddin after deciding to leave Highland league rivals Rothes during the festive period.

The 36-year-old defender rejoined the Merkinch outfit last week, just six months after leaving the club to head to Speyside.

However after failing to settle at Mackessack Park, MacDonald returned to the Lilywhites on Friday and 24 hours later helped them to a 3-2 derby win against Nairn County.

MacDonald says when he was looking for a new club last month, there was only ever going to be one choice when he was approached by manager Brian MacLeod.
