Inverness Caledonian Thistle will not play tomorrow as League One clash against Stenhousemuir is postponed due to frozen pitch at Caledonian Stadium
Inverness Caledonian Thistle’s match against Stenhousemuir scheduled to take place tomorrow has been called off.
The League One fixture has been postponed after the pitch at the Caledonian Stadium failed an inspection which was carried out at 3pm on Friday afternoon.
Temperatures were reported to be as low as -3 early on Friday morning as conditions overnight has made the surface unsafe to play on.
A statement on Inverness Caledonian Thistle social media confirmed despite protective measures being taken, it was unable to prevent the surface from becoming unplayable this weekend.
It said: “Following a pitch inspection this afternoon, tomorrow's William Hill League One match against Stenhousemuir has been postponed.
“Despite the pitch covers being down this week, the pitch is frozen in parts due to lower temperatures than expected last night.”
It has been confirmed the match will now take place on Tuesday, March 11 at 7,45pm.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle are currently five points from safety as they are in ninth place on 22 points.
Montrose in seventh and Annan Athletic in eighth place are both on 27 points.
Annan Athletic are due to travel to Aberdeen to face Cove Rangers tomorrow. While Montrose are at home to bottom of the table Dumbarton, who are 14 points behind Inverness.
Dumbarton were deducted 15 points after they went into administration in November.
In the other League One matches scheduled for tomorrow, Alloa Athletic host Kelty Hearts and Queen of the South take on Arbroath in Dumfries.
Meanwhile in the Premiership, Ross County are set to travel to Fir Park to take on Motherwell.
In the Highland League, Clachnacuddin are set to take on Huntly at Grant Street Park. While Nairn County are playing a friendly against Dufftown at Station Park.
