Nairn County still to appoint new boss as they prepare for final two games in the Highland League this season against Formartine United and Deveronvale
NAIRN County are heading into the final week of the Highland League campaign still not knowing who will lead the club into next season.
Interim manager Brian Macleod has confirmed has been told he will be taking charge of the club’s final two matches of the season against Formartine United tomorrow and Deveronvale on Saturday.
Macleod has been in interim charge of Nairn County since Tokely’s departure, but has made it clear previously he has no intention of taking on the role on a permanent basis.
Speaking on Monday, Macleod believes no appointment of a permanent manager will be at the club this week and will be in charge of the team for their last two games of the campaign.
He confirmed: “I will be in charge for the remaining two matches of the season.
“I don’t believe there will be anything happening this week unless something major changes.

“I wouldn’t rule it out, but as it stands, I will be continuing to take the team for the rest of this week.
Then I imagine something will be sorted regarding the manager’s position in the close season.
“It hasn’t been an ideal situation, but we need to be professional until the last kick of the ball of this season and prepare the team as best as we can.”
Nairn County will head to Pitmedden tomorrow to take on Formartine United without several key players.
Fraser Dingwall and Wayne Mackintosh have been ruled out with injury with Calum Maclean set to be unavailable for at least Wednesday night’s match.
Nairn County had mixed fortunes in the Highland League last week, but did pick up their first win in three matches when they defeated Turriff United 2-0 at Station Park.
Andrew Greig scored in the first half with Ben Barron scoring from the penalty spot to seal a 2-0 win.
Meanwhile on Saturday, Nairn County were unable to cause an upset as they lost 3-0 to Brechin City at Glebe Park.
All the goals came in a six minute period in the first half with former Caley Thistle defender Brad McKay opening the scoring and ex-ICT forward Cillian Sheridan grabbing a double.
Nairn County are in 13th place in the Highland League but could reach 11th if they win their final two matches.
