Partick Thistle disappointed with Inverness Caley Thistle for refusing to move date of game to avoid clash with European Championship qualifier between Scotland and Cyprus

Partick Thistle say they have been left disappointed with Inverness Caledonian Thistle after they denied their request to shift the date of their scheduled match.

The Glasgow outfit requested Inverness to rearrange the date and time of the game to be moved from Saturday, March 25 at 3pm to avoid a clash with the Scotland v Cyprus match which takes place on the same day at 2pm.

However, Partick Thistle released a public statement saying their request was refused by Inverness due to hospitality which had been sold for the match.

The statement from Partick Thistle read: "We approached Inverness CT late last month to request the game be moved to avoid a clash with Scotland v Cyprus on the same afternoon (2pm), as we know many Jags supporters would wish to attend or watch both matches.

"However we were informed that the hosts would be unwilling to move it due to their matchday hospitality being fully booked for this particular fixture.

"We understand Inverness CT only sell matchday hospitality for a handful of selected games.

"The irony is not lost on the club that after seven successive midweek fixtures against this opposition, we are unable to move to a Friday night (or other non Saturday slot) on the one occasion many of our fans would have welcomed that."
