SHINTY: Draw is made for the MacTavish Cup semi finals

THE draw for the semi finals of the MacTavish Cup has been made.

Holders Kingussie will take on Skye in a repeat of last year’s final which Kingussie won 1-0.

The winners will face either Fort William or Newtonmore in the final.

The final will take place at The Eilan at Newtonmore on Saturday, June 8 with its usual venue at Bught Park in Inverness out of commission.

The draw was conducted at the Camanachd Association’s UHI Cup at Blaribeg Park, Drumnadrochit.

The clubs who made the draw were kitted out with t-shirts and caps emblazoned with the cottages.com MacTavish Cup logo as a thanks for their help in completing the draw.

Heather Grant, Business Development Manager for cottages.com said: “It was fantastic to go along to the UHI Cup this morning and complete the draw for this year’s cottages.com MacTavish Cup.

“The depth of enthusiasm for shinty across the communities that we operate in is plain to see.”

Derek Keir, Camanachd Association CEO said: “A huge thanks to Glenurquhart Shinty Club for hosting the UHI Cup today, giving a great platform for the cottages.com MacTavish Cup Semi-Final Draw to take place.

“2024 marks five years of support from cottages.com for the MacTavish Cup and we have been delighted to see attendance numbers rise right the way through that sponsorship.

The four clubs who are in the semi-final are from vibrant shinty communities and I wish them all the best of luck.”

The cottages.com MacTavish Cup Final takes place at The Eilan, Newtonmore on Saturday, June 8 and tickets are on sale now at www.shinty.com/tickets
