Kelty Hearts could face Inverness Caledonian Thistle without a permanent manager as former Celtic, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Aberdeen and Dundee United defender resigns following poor run of form
INVERNESS Caledonian Thistle’s next opponents Kelty Hearts have confirmed that Charlie Mulgrew has resigned as their manager after just 11 games.
It was confirmed on Tuesday night that the former Celtic defender stood down as boss, three days after Kelty Hearts were thrashed 6-0 by bottom of the table Dumbarton on Saturday.
Kelty Hearts are set to travel to Inverness Caledonian Thistle to face each other in a League One clash on Saturday.
In a statement tonight, Kelty Hearts said: “Kelty Hearts FC can confirm that manager, Charlie Mulgrew, has today tendered his resignation from the post, which has been accepted by the club board.
“We can also confirm that assistant manager, Mark Kerr, will leave the club by mutual agreement.
“Although only with the club for a short period, the board would like to place on record their recognition and thanks for the hard work Charlie and Mark have done on the club’s behalf during their tenure.

“Everyone at New Central Park would like to wish Charlie and Mark the very best of fortune for their future ventures.”
Mulgrew was appointed as manager of Kelty Hearts in January following former manager Michael Tidser leaving the club to become boss at Championship outfit Dunfermline Athletic.
However, he was sacked after 11 games with only three wins during his reign.
Kelty Hearts are currently in seventh place, one point above Inverness Caledonian Thistle in eighth with the two teams set to face each other at the Caledonian Stadium on Saturday.
Inverness moved three points clear of the relegation zone last Saturday after a 3-0 win over Cove Rangers in Aberdeen.
Keith Bray scored a hat-trick in the win and was named in the SPFL team of the week for his performance.
