Inverness Caley Thistle head coach Scott Kellacher encourages supporters to ‘get excited’ over early form of Aberdeen loanee Alfie Bavidge
Inverness Caledonian Thistle head coach Scott Kellacher has told the club’s fans to get excited over the early form of January recruit Alfie Bavidge.
The on-loan Aberdeen forward has scored in each of his first two appearances for the Caley Jags, netting in the first half of victories over Dumbarton and Annan Athletic.
While Kellacher insists those inside the club have to stay level-headed, he has encouraged the fanbase to be excited about the potential that the 18-year-old is bringing to the table.
"Alfie has been a breath of fresh air since he's come in,” Kellacher said.
"You can see what he's produced in the last couple of games. He's exciting to watch – fans want to see that at games.

“It’s important for me not to get carried away, and for Alfie and the players round about him.
“The fans should get excited. That’s what I said I wanted to do when I came in, because we want to see something different on the pitch and he brings that.
“The fans should be on the edge of their seat when he gets the ball, but it’s up to me to keep him grounded and focused on what he has to do.
“His mentality is great. The boy just wants to play football, and he’s done great. No matter where you ask him to play, whether he’s up front or down the sides, he gives everything he’s got.
“You just want to give these players a bit of freedom to go and play their games, and we’ve seen the rewards we can get in the last two games.”
In fact, when Martin was playing for the club one of his teammates was a certain Scott Kellacher, who says he sees some similarities between the elder and younger Bavidges.
"I was here with Alfie's dad, Martin, who I get on with,” Kellacher explained.
“I have spoken to him a couple of times recently. It's strange when you see his son now braking through.
"Martin was a good, powerful player, with pace. Let's hope Alfie can be even better than the two. I'd not like to compare them. They're a wee bit different, but they both have pace and can score goals.
"Alfie has been great since he's come in and I just want him to keep his head down and enjoy his football without us putting too much pressure on him.
Kellacher also confirmed that ICT’s loan deal for Charlie Reilly had expired, with the forward only playing 75 minutes for Inverness due to injury.
