The Scottish Album Of The Year shortlist includes Skye musician
The Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award has revealed Brìghde Chaimbeul's Carry Them With Us is among the 10 shortlisted albums in the running for the £20,000 prize and coveted national title.
Brìghde, originally from Sleat on Skye, has been named on the SAY Award shortlist for 2023, which – in alphabetical order – is:

Music fans were given 72 hours to ‘have their SAY’ and vote for their favourite longlisted album to secure a place on the shortlist.
Paolo Nutini's Last Night In The Bittersweet was revealed as this year’s overall public vote winner.
And it was the singer's album These Streets that is the winner of 2023’s Modern Scottish Classic Award which was chosen by this year’s longlisted artists.
The nine remaining shortlisted albums for the SAY Award were chosen by this year's judging panel.
The five finalists for this year’s Sound of Young Scotland Award have also been revealed and – in alphabetical order are: Danny Cliff, Pearling, Pippa Blundell, No Windows and Queen of Harps.
The award is designed to support the next generation of Scottish talent and gives the eventual winner the means to create their debut album.
The SAY Award judging panel will reconvene at Stirling’s Albert Halls on Thursday, October 26. to choose 2023’s SAY winner.
