Two veterans of the English folk scene will take the stage at the Eden Court, Inverness on Sunday 18th October.

Ken Nicol and Becky Mills are accomplished solo artists and have also been members of illustrious bands including Steeleye Span, The Albion Band and Waking The Witch. Through these and other collaborations they are both well known to folk and folk-rock fans. Together they will present a very special night of music and song.

Renowned for his amazing acoustic guitar playing, Ken Nicol also plays electric guitar, 5-string banjo, mandolin and ukulele. His music ranges from folk to ragtime, blues to rock, ballads to jazz, and fromintricate instrumentals to fun comedy numbers. Richard Ellin of R2 Magazine said: “....he certainly ranks in the top 10 of acoustic guitar players in this country.”

Earlier this year Ken Nicol completed his third successful tour of Australia and New Zealand where he appeared at a range of venues from the intimate folk club to a music festival.

Becky Mills has been singing and playing since her mid-teens, and in the early 2000s became one of the four female stars of the genre-busting acoustic music group Waking The Witch. Becky’s recent release, Dandelion, has received critical acclaim and displays her talents as a singer/songwriter. Currently Becky is working on a music project with Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span and Albion Band co-founder Ashley Hutchings, who is widely recognised as the “The Guv'nor” of British folk/rock.
