A LAST minute lineup change for Ullapool Book Festival sees Raja Shehadeh in conversation with David Pratt in place of the unwell Volker Kutscher.
Raja Shehadeh is a Palestinian writer and lawyer and is a founder of the human rights organisation Al-Haq.
He is author of several books including Occupation Diaries, Strangers in the House, Travels with My Ottoman Uncle and Palestinian Walks: Notes on a Vanishing Landscape for which he was awarded the Orwell Prize for political writing in 2008. He lives in Ramallah in Palestine. He has twice previously been a hugely popular guest at Ullapool Book Festival.
David Pratt has spent almost four decades working as a war correspondent and covering foreign affairs. Among many accolades for his work, he has been named Journalist of the Year in the Scottish Press Awards, twice Reporter of the Year and twice Feature Writer of the Year.
He is also a five times finalist in the Amnesty International Media Awards for human rights reporting. He is a regular contributor to the BBC, Contributing Foreign Editor with The Herald and Sunday National and a columnist with The National. He is author of Intifada -The Long Day of Rage a book about the Palestinian uprisings.
Tickets for this event are £8 and are on sale in both of Ullapool's bookshops. Tickets bought for Volker Kutscher via the website have been refunded. Those who bought their tickets from the bookshops should return them there for a refund.
