Maze Runner for Tain filmfest Fling!
Fling! Film Festival 2014 has landed the early release of The Maze Runner, based on the book by James Dashner and loved by teenagers the world over.
The 20th Century Fox adaptation directed by VFX artist Wes Ball is already receiving great reviews and converting fans of the book Stateside.
The story starts when Thomas (O'Brien) wakes up trapped in a massive maze with a group of other boys, he has no memory of the outside world other than strange dreams about a mysterious organization known as W.C.K.D. Only by piecing together fragments of his past with clues he discovers in the maze can Thomas hope to uncover his true purpose and a way to escape.
Fling! Film Festival will premiere the movie on Saturday, October 4 at the Duthac Centre in Tain.
Festival director Stuart Wells says: "For this one weekend we are bringing back a high-quality film experience for the first time in 30 or 40 years.
"We have films for young and old but especially the young of heart."

The Fling! film festival at Tain’s Duthuc Centre has been set up and managed by the Seaboard Film Society in conjunction with a local group of young people.
If this year is a success the festival organisers hope to develop and expand in the coming years providing great films and film-making opportunities.
Stuart said: "We are screening eight films including The Maze Runner, The Boxtrolls, Side By Side, Back To The Future and closing with the incredible I Believe In Unicorns. We have also selected a number of brilliant and surprising short films by young people from many different countries."
The festival has already received the backing of Regional Screen Scotland and Youth Highland, the network of youth clubs in the Highlands.
Clair Nichols, chief officer at Youth Highland said: ‘It is great to see a community project run by volunteers and young people doing something creative in the Highlands. It is so important to create opportunities for young people to showcase their own work and give people the opportunity to come together to take part in creative activities in rural areas."
