New arena for RockNess
RockNess has revealed brand new arena the Rock n Roll Circus for this year's festival in June.
Music and comedy will fuel three days of programming with Friday's opening night party indie club Propaganda with DJ Dan getting the party started and other names including Sound Of Arrows, Saint Saviour and Worship. On Saturday the venue hosts sets from Jamie Woon, Wolf Gang, Chipmunk collaborator Emeli Sande, The Good Natured and Yaaks with the evening handing over to Aberdeen club SNAFU to mastermind. Headlining is French radio host Ivan Smagghe, Jesse Rose, Big Foot's Tea Party with Christopher Kelly and Redux plus Mothership with resident Adam Askers.
Sunday features The Smoke Fairies, Boy & Bear, singer Lucy Rose, Pete Roe, Story Books and rounding off the weekend in the new arena are regular mainstage festival funsters The Cuban Brothers with two hours of guests and fun under the banner An Audience With The Cuban Brothers.
As well as the new Rock n Roll Circus, the festival has announced a three-day 20th birthday party celebration for Soma Records on the Arcadia Afterburner with Friday's bill including Erol Alkan and Parisian techno master Paul Ritch live plus Heidi and Ewan Pearson. Saturday's Afterburner is extended until 3am with highlights including techno duo Pan-Pot plus Funk D'Void, Alex Under, Gary Beck, producer Master H and Harvey McKay. Sunday's line up includes Jamie Jones, Sunday Circus, Andrew Weatherall and Derrick Carter.
Newly-announced main stage attractions include Laidback Luke! and The Japanese Popstars, Boxer Rebellion, Morning Parade and Twilight Sad.
The Arena's latest names to be confirmed include Nero, Skrillex, Beardyman, Sub Focus live, Sons And Daughters, Broken Records, Chapel Club, Jim Jones Revue, Dog Is Dead and Sound Of Guns.
