Red Kites return with new release
AFTER a triumphant return to the Highlands in September for the Black Isle Brewery’s Jocktoberfest festival, Red Kites are back in Inverness at Mad Hatters on Saturday in order to promote their new single Salt Water.
The band formed in September 2010 in Guildford, Surrey, but their roots began in The Highlands of Scotland, the home of frontman and songwriter Moteh Parrott.
A shared love of modern folk and rock drive their sound’s direction, but the band members’ varied musical backgrounds brought unexpected ingredients to the mix.
Their debut EP Beat in Time was released in April 2012, and the band went on to play several Scottish festivals that summer, including RockNess, Belladrum and goNorth. The second EP, New Life Ignites, was released in June 2013, and latest disc Salt Water came out earlier this week.
Tickets, priced at £5, are available online from www.scottish.ticketsource.co.uk and in person from Eden Court box office.
