OSCAR-nominated The Theory of Everything (12A) is coming to Banff Community Cinema on Friday (February 20) at the Harvest Centre Trinity.

Starring BAFTA winner Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones, this is the extraordinary story of one of the world's greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde.

Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis of Motor Neurone Disease at 21 years of age.

With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time.

Together they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.

This award-winning film is based on the memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, by Jane Hawking, and is directed by Academy Award winner James Marsh (Man on Wire).

Night at the Museum 3: Secret of the Tomb (PG) is the family film showing beforehand.

Get ready for the wildest and most adventure-filled Night At The Museum ever as Larry (Ben Stiller) spans the globe, uniting favourite and new characters while embarking on an epic quest to save the magic before it is gone forever. This will be screened at 5.30pm, followed by The Theory of Everything at 7.30pm.

Tickets for both films are £6 for adults and £5 for children from Strachan Pharmacies in Banff and Turriff. Profits go to local charities. Tickets are also available at the door. Group discounts are also available by contacting John Strachan.

The Aul Fife in Low Street, Banff, is doing a Movie Meal Deal on Friday, February 20 between 4-7.30pm. Show your ticket and get a meal deal.

Future exciting films for Banff Cinema in March are Big Hero 6 (U) and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (12A).
