Status Quo's Inverness acoustic date
VETERAN rock band Status Quo will perform a special acoustic show at Inverness Leisure Centre next June.
The band’s Aquostic show will see the Rockin’ All Over the World band perform on Tuesday, June 20.
Though Rick Parfitt is unable to join the band for this live show on medical grounds, the evening will be packed with the band’s hits, both new and old, from their huge back catalogue – and given an acoustic twist.
Francis Rossi will be joined in the current Quo line up by keyboard player, Andrew Bown, and bassist John ‘Rhino’ Edwards and drummer Leon Cave.
Francis of The Quo, which has world-wide record sales exceeding 118 million, said: "We’re so looking forward to heading to Inverness for an Aquostic show in front of an audience of around 1,900 fans.
"We will strip-back some of our best, most-loved songs and give our fans a really special evening of live music. I hope you can join us!"
The show is being hosted by Inverness-based concert promoter, LCC Live, as part of Live in the City, and is an exclusive, one off acoustic evening with Status Quo.
Lauren Munro of LCC Live, said: "If you love Status Quo, you need to be there; if you’ve never before seen this truly legendary band play acoustically, you need to be there. It’s going to be extra special!"
Lauren added: "Status Quo will perform as part of our Live in the City line-up. They will join The Beach Boys, Olly Murs and Bryan Adams, for shows over the summer months, offering superb live entertainment to those living in northern Scotland. We hope you can join us!"
Status Quo is the fourth artist to be announced as part of LCC Live’s Live in the City. The Beach Boys, Olly Murs and Bryan Adams, will also perform in Inverness this summer.
Tickets go on sale at 9am on Thursday, December 22 from Ticketline (www.ticketline.co.uk; 0844 888 9991) or from Caffreys Menswear, Union Street, Inverness.
