Twenty artists are in running for the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award after organisers publish longlist
Organisers of the Scottish Album of the Year (SAY) Award have announced its longlist which includes a total of 20 artists.
Regarded in the industry as Scotland’s national music prize, the longlist was whittled down from a record-breaking 369 eligible record submissions.
Each longlisted album is now in the running for the coveted SAY Award title and £20,000 first prize, with the winner to be announced at The SAY Award 2022 ceremony next month.
The list includes:

• Balgay Hill: Morning In Magnolia by Andrew Wasylyk;
• Lazybody by Annie Booth;
• M4 by Bemz;
• Alluvium by C Duncan;
• System by Callum Easter;
• Neither Is, Nor Ever Was by Constant Follower;
• It’s Been A Year by Declan Welsh and the Decadent West;
• Milestone by Duncan Lyall;
• Forest Floor by Fergus McCreadie;
• Heavy Elevator by Hamish Hawk;
• Equaliser by Hen Hoose;
• For You Who Are The Wronged by Kathryn Joseph;
• Don’t Drink The Poison by Kobi Onyame;
• Heavy Like a Headache by The Ninth Wave;
• A’Ghrian by Niteworks;
• Siren Spine Sysex by Proc Fiskal;
• With Love, From Glasgow by Rebecca Vasmant;
• Chasing Sakura by Seonaid Aitken Ensemble;
• and Unlearning by Walt Disco.
Robert Kilpatrick, creative director of the Scottish Music Industry Association, said: “2022’s longlist presents a dynamic and diverse collection of albums which spans multiple genres and showcases both established and rising talent from across the country.”
