The latest update from Highland Council about refuse collections

Highland Council has confirmed which areas will be affected by the strike action by waste, recycling and street cleaning staff.

The impact of the industrial action is beginning to impact a wider area and now spans multiple areas from both the west coast to the east.

The local authority is still urging people to continue to put their bins out as there may be a chance they are collected due to the uncertainty of which services are affected.

Household Waste and Recycling collections will not take place today in the following areas:

• Dingwall (Recycling)
• Invergordon (Refuse)
• Fortrose ( Refuse and Recycling)
• Rosemarkie ( Recycling))
• Tore ( Recycling)
• Munlochy ( Recycling)
• Dornoch ( Refuse)
• North Kessock ( Refuse)
• Redcastle (Refuse)
• Garguston (Refuse)
• Milton (Refuse)
• Charleston (Refuse)
• Ullapool (Refuse)
• Strathconon (Recycling)
• Achintee (Recycling)
• Slumbay (Recycling)
• Ardaneaskan
• Lochcarron

Garden Waste collections will not take place today in the following areas:

• Tain
• Arabella
• Beauly

Bulky Uplift collections will not take place today in the following areas:

• Ross-shire

Food Waste collections will not take place today in the following areas:

The following Household Waste Recycling Centres will be closed today:

• Ullapool

• Alness

Business Waste collections will not take place today in the following areas:

• Ross and Cromarty (waste and recycling)

Street cleansing services (including litter bin emptying) not taking place today in the following areas:

• Alness

• Black Isle
• Garve
• Inverness City Centre area (litter bins will be emptied)
• Muir of Ord
• Strathpeffer
