Fairways arson attack saw Aurora Hair Salon offer a helping hand to Carly and Amanda from Hair Chic Salon staff after cruel blaze gutted their premises leaving them ‘absolutely devastated to lose our livelihoods’
Two members of the Hair Chic staff whose premises were gutted in the recent arson attack at Fairways Business Park have thanked another nearby salon and others for offering a port in the storm.
Matt from Aurora Hair Salon on Balloan Road near Dows reached out to Carly and Amanda and the pair will now rent chairs in the salon so at least they can carry on working.
Just under a week ago a Skoda Octavia was deliberately reversed into the building and set alight by an individual in a balaclava – the subsequent fire gutted the building containing five businesses.
The arson sparked widespread disgust and anger locally as well as considerable sympathy for traders including SJ Travel Centre, Scottish Premium Seafoods, a Harry Gow bakery, and Hair Chic hairdressers.
Now Carly and Amanda from Hair Chic posted a message online, saying: "We are both absolutely devastated to lose our livelihoods in the recent arson attack at Fairways.
“We lost our appointment book with upcoming hair appointments and although we have the majority of our clients' contact details, we have unfortunately lost some.
“We both loved working in Hair Chic salon for the last 11 years alongside a great team. We weren’t only work colleagues, we were the best of friends.
“The salon was always thriving with our very supportive and loyal clients and it’s so hard and upsetting to accept that things will never be the same for us all again.
“We are lucky enough that Matt at Aurora has been very supportive and allowed us to rent chairs within his salon at Dows.
“We are so grateful to every salon that has reached out to us and all the love and messages we have received from clients, friends and strangers.
“We are looking ahead to this next chapter."
“For clients looking to get in touch, the contact number for Aurora salon is 01463 238017”.
Matt from Aurora Hair Salon followed up, adding: “Not the circumstances we like to welcome new members to the salon but myself Gemma and Chloe would like to welcome Carly and Amanda to Aurora
“If we could share this to reach out to all their customers – unfortunately their books were destroyed in the fire along with contact numbers for them you can reach out through us and we will pass messages over or contact them directly”.
